Veteran network security expert Ron Edison founded Internet Defense Technologies (IDT) in 2005. He assembled a crack team of developers, and was soon joined by former top Earthlink executives. All feel the company’s mission passionately.

The IDT development team, lead by Mr. Edison, leverages cutting edge technology, extensive expertise in Internet, LAN, WAN and database security to create effective solutions to today’s Internet problems. Part of the ‘effective solutions’ philosophy is a constant vision towards simple, elegant solutions for the end user. It must be easy to implement and easy to manage, be it for a major corporation or just an individual.

The initial design for the company’s first major product Total Mail Defense began in mid-2005. It was alpha and beta tested throughout 2006. Mr. Edison’s development team conducted performance analysis, tracked user experience, and adjusted the software and hardware configurations to improve the program and platform until peak performance of the multiple technologies involved was achieved. Total Mail Defense was then put through rigorous volume and scaling analysis to ensure robustness.

IDT is in the process of applying for patents based on innovative technology developed for Total Mail Defense.

The product officially launched in early 2007 and is quickly being adopted by companies throughout the United States and Canada.
