William L. Widmaier -

Mr. William Widmaier is best known for helping companies enter and survive rapid growth phases while establishing lasting brands and placing them in a leadership position in their market.

Mr. Widmaier was the marketing genius behind the rapid rise and success of Internet giant Earthlink, where he was VP of Marketing and Market Development during its expansive explosion, taking the company from its humble roots through its extraordinary growth and successful IPO, all while building the most favorably recognized brand in the business. Sky Dayton, Earthlink’s founder and Chairman was quoted in the Hollywood Reporter as saying “William is one of those marketing gurus you hear about. The kind you hope your competition doesn't have.”

A veteran of over 50 film campaigns, and a Hollywood Reporter Key Art Award winner for his work for the American Film Institute, Mr. Widmaier over the years founded and ran two successful advertising agencies in Los Angeles. He also co-founded and was founding CEO of a national direct marketing company that achieved #66 on the Ink 500 by its third year.

As a Board Member and the Creative Director of national magazine publishing company eRepublic he helped grow the company by 300% in five years. The company is now the leader in its category. Later Mr. William Widmaier was President of Point Vantage, where he successfully ran a multi-million-dollar eCommerce company.

As President of the newly formed New Media Group at Platinum Studios he updated the corporate brand, executed acquisitions, built a core team, launched Platinum properties on-line, and built a network of sites (including a major community site) that control an online presence of millions of repeat visitors. They too are now amongst the market leader in their segment.

Mr. Widmaier is also an award-winning producer, having won a Gold Aurora Award and a WorldFest Silver Star, as well as a successful writer. For years he was a contributing editor to California Computer News and wrote the popular column Mojo Tech for the magazine. Beyond that Mr. Widmaier is a produced feature film screenwriter and recently completed his first novel.
